Zainab Fasiki

Is a mechanical engineer and award-winning artivist (artist and activist) from Morocco. Without restriction or guilt, she uses art, literature, and social media to generate dialogues about women’s lives and bodies.

Fasiki, the creator of a feminist organization that promotes young women artists, was designated a TIME magazine Next Generation Leader in 2019 for her comic work Hshouma, which examines gender identities and sexual orientations.

Her advice for how to lead with feminist principles is to remember that, in order to achieve peace, “Our tools are art, literature, politics, philosophy, and love.”
