As the first African-American woman to establish her own production firm, Oprah Winfrey is a Wimage hero. In her debut film, The Color Purple, she received an Academy Award nomination. Winfrey was once television’s highest-paid entertainment as the popular host of a syndicated television talk show that reached 15 million people a day. The duration of The Oprah Show was twenty-five seasons.
