About

Dansk Kvindesamfund (the Danish Women’s Society) is a NGO (non-governmental organization), whose aim is to secure that gender equality is constantly on the political agenda. Our goal is to create equal status and opportunities – culturally, politically and individually. The Danish Women’s Society works across partisan views and considerations.

The organization was founded in 1871 and is the oldest women’s organization in Denmark. Since then, there has been huge societal changes. Women now have the right to vote, abortion has been legalized and women are able to support themselves financially. Nevertheless, the issue of gender is as relevant as ever, seeing that there is still a long way to go in terms of full gender equality.Visit website »
